Two adjectives – dedicated and detail-oriented. Karl is by far the most committed tennis coach we have ever come across. He is also one who has an eye for the fine, intricate details of tennis strokes. Our son, Shaun, started his training with Karl semi-privately in 2015 and upon seeing results, we added twice a week private lessons in 2016.
During this period, Karl was extremely interested and involved in Shaun’s tennis development, and as he is not someone who would take short-cuts, Karl took all the pain and effort to spend time fine-tuning Shaun’s strokes. Karl would often record Shaun’s progress in videos and have Shaun keep a copy too. Shaun was also asked to maintain a notebook to document his lesson of the day.
On top of these tennis technicalities, Karl knew too how to encourage and motivate Shaun on days when he didn’t win a match. If not for our family’s relocation last August, Shaun would have definitely continued his lessons with Karl.
Thanks to his tireless dedication and efforts, Shaun was selected into an invitational group in a tennis club here in Hong Kong when we arrived, and not mentioning he being the youngest player in this group. Such is the best testimonial of Karl’s professionalism which is highly commendable.
